ശ്രീമദ് ഭഗവദ്ഗീത മലയാളം വ്യാഖ്യാനം: ശ്രീമദ് ഭഗവദ് ഗീതയുടെ നിരവധി വ്യാഖ്യാനങ്ങള് ഇന്ന് ഇന്റര്നെറ്റില് ലഭ്യമാണ്. സുപ്രസിദ്ധ ഭാതവത വ്യാഖ്യാതാവും മഹാപണ്ഡിതനും ഭക്താഗ്രണിയുമായ പണ്ഡിറ്റ് പി. ഗോപാലന് നായര് എഴുതിയ ഭഗവദ്ഗീതാ വ്യാഖ്യാനം അവയില്നിന്നൊക്കെ വ്യത്യസ്തവും അനേകം പ്രത്യേകതകളുള്ളതുമാണ്. അദ്വൈതസമ്പ്രദായത്തില് ശങ്കരമതാനുയായിയായി ശ്രീ ശങ്കരാനന്ദസരസ്വതി എന്ന മഹാത്മാവുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ശ്രീശങ്കരദിഗ്വിജയം, പഞ്ചദശീ, അനുഭൂതിപ്രകാശം തുടങ്ങി അനേകം വേദാന്തകൃതികളുടെ കര്ത്താവായിരുന്ന ശ്രീ വിദ്യാരണ്യസ്വാമികള് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരുന്നു. ശ്രീശങ്കരവിരചിതമായ ഭഗവദ്ഗീത ഭാഷ്യം സാധാരണക്കാര്ക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാന് എളുപ്പമല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട്, അത് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും സുഗമമാകണം എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെ ശ്രീ ശങ്കരാനന്ദസരസ്വതി ശങ്കരഭാഷ്യാനുസാരിയായതും ലളിതവുമായ ഒരു ഗീതാവ്യാഖ്യാനം രചിച്ചു. ശങ്കരാനന്ദീ ടീകാ എന്ന പേരിലറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ വ്യാഖ്യാനം ഭഗവദ്ഗീതാ പ്രേമികള്ക്കിടയില് അതീവ പ്രീതിയാര്ജ്ജിച്ച ഒന്നാണ്. ഈ വ്യാഖ്യാനത്തെ അവലംബിച്ചാണ് പണ്ഡിറ്റ് പി. ഗോപാലന് നായര് ഭഗവദ്ഗീത വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതോടൊപ്പം ഭഗവദ്ഗീതയുടെ പതിനെട്ട് അദ്ധ്യായങ്ങളുടെയും സാരസംഗ്രഹവും ഗീതാശ്ലോകങ്ങളുടെ അകാരാദിസൂചികയും ഈ വ്യാഖ്യാനത്തിനു മാറ്റു കൂട്ടുന്നു.

My grandfather Achath Ravunny Menon is a contemporary of Pandit P. Gopalan Nair (PGN). I, as a boy, have later attended the high school where PGN was once the headmaster. I am from Kollengode, Palakkad.
It is nice to know that Sankara Bhashyam of Gita with Malayalam vyakhyanam by PGN is now available as e-Book. I have studied this work though not completely. PGN has also written on Brahma Sutram and Bhagavatham, and to the best of my knowledge, as different volumes.
My grandfather has written (Sankara’s) Soundarya Lahari and Sivananda Lahari in Malayalam verse. At that time, it was published by ESS PEE KAY Press, Kollengode.

If your family or friends are having the Brahma Sutram and Bhagavatham of PGN, or if you can locate it near your libraries or in the Palakkad District Library, you can borrow it and get a scan or photocopy of the same for publication in this blog, in the interest of future generations. So make a search for it. Of course, that is possible only if you are in Palakkad or nearby.
By the way your grandfather’s Soundarya Lahari and Sivananda Lahari in Malayalam is with commentary or just plain slokas only?
